Lumigan® (bimatoprost) — First-Time Generic • On February 23, 2015, Lupin announced the FDA approval of its AT-rated generic to Allergan’s Lumigan (bimatoprost) 0.03% ophthalmic solution, for the reduction of elevated intraocular pressure in patients with open angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. — Brand Lumigan 0.03% is no longer commercially available. — Brand Lumigan is available as a 0.01% ophthalmic solution and has the same indication as the 0.03% ophthalmic solution. Generics are not available for the 0.01% strength. • Bimatoprost is also available as a 0.03% ophthalmic solution (Latisse® ) to treat hypotrichosis of the eyelashes by increasing their growth including length, thickness and darkness. • Lupin plans to launch generic Lumigan 0.03% ophthalmic solution soon.
